Below you will find also my 2018 scenography diary, started as a way to focus on scenography in a hectic academic context. The task was to write something every day, no matter how tired I was. The resulting scenographic poetics is still with me. August 1, 2023, I started writing diary posts again, because scenography research needs dedicated awareness, in terms of langue, outreach, and - why not - love.

Day 55. Visiting researcher Eszter Szalczer gave her talk on Strindburg and Visual Culture today at the Department. A lot of marketing and a few really interested people there. Eszter also presented her own chapter, and talked about the multimodal layers in for example photographs. Pictures of landscapes, traces of war, visible or completely hidden...

Day 54. Meeting about the exhibition. The scenographing sircle on the floor cannot happen and I we will instead have a "vision monter" with the ideas we developed. Hopefully som activism can be inspired from that.

Day 53. Ahhh - INSCRIPTION, new book to read and move with, make with, live with in relation to scenography, scenographics and scenographing. Passion and pain... Karl-Magnus Johansson just gave the book to me. Thrilled. More here: https://www.mottodistribution.com/shop/inscription-14174.html )

Day 48. Been nice. Attended a seminar. Devouring useful stuff for future teaching. A red square! So thriling with scenographic stained glass and community frictions. Some quite lovely and useful examples of new arty-magical windows in churches:

Day 47. I am dreaming up a large scale picture of jazz dancers, early 1970's, Marchant Dance Theater (first called Gothenburg Modern Dance Ensemble) in Gothenburg. Claude Marchant 1919-2004, is no longer with us, but Bo Westerholm is. The legacy is alive, I call, and Bo is in his car, busy as always. Yes, he will look in his...

Day 46. In the archive, looking up so called 'free culture' (independent culture and art). Documents about regulations and money. Applications for funding to buy a car, a device much needed for outreaching theatre groups. No dance. No bodies. Archive as a prison of sorts. And what is outside it, in bodies and memories? My actions slowly activate...
