Scenographic lunch

21.08.2018

Day 5. Just came back to the office after having a totally unexpected scenographic experience. Over the lunchtable at the dance and art venue 3:e Våningen: a snake shaped freely flying festoon (something usually found on baroque and roccoco buildings) in green tulle, some redd stuff and spiraling ribbons, made of old posters for dance performances, highlighted the meal and dance residence introduction in lovely ways. It made some of the guests remember performances they had been part of, while others started posing scenography related questions to Catharine Cary (catharine-cary.com), the creator of the dancely festoon. More about the venue 3:e Våningen, the current Gothenburg Dance and Theatre festival, and the choreographer Dam Van Huynh here: https://www.3vaningen.se/dep.html. Thanks to choreographer Benedikte Esperi, who curated the lunch, for inviting me!
